Microporous Thermoplastic
What sets Microporous Thermoplastic apart from other foams - including other salt leached products - is our addition of patented flow enhancers that coat the internal pore structure and reduce friction and flow resistance to deliver superior ink release rates. MT foams are characterized by precise, controlled delivery rates that eliminate initial over-inking and extend usable print life. We can produce rollers in a virtually infinite variety of shapes, forms and densities, any of which can be impregnated by various Porelon inks or other fluids. Inks used in MT can dry by absorption, which is ideal for carton, financial and postal marking as well as ribbon reinking, or by solvent evaporation for printing on non-porous substrates such as glass, metal and plastics. One of the most visible applications of MT is fingerprinting - Porelon´s foam pads and ink are the accepted standard for law enforcement and banking worldwide. MT´s large, smooth interconnected pores are ideally suited for large ink volumes and heavily pigmented inks that other foams are unable to reliably handle. Choosing the right foam for your application is an important decision. Contact our team at any time for assistance and consider the following MT ideal performance factors. All factors are significantly impacted by operating environment, expected print life and imprint quality.
